THE ART OF AGING WELL
We can also learn a lot by looking to the so-called “blue zones” on our planet – regions where people have exceptionally long lives beyond the age of 80. Currently leading the way
is Sardinia, Italy; Okinawa, Japan; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Icaria, Greece and Loma Linda, California. In these regions, people are living longer primarily due to a lifestyle combining
physical activity, low stress, rich social interactions, a local whole-foods diet and low disease incidence.
WINTER WELLBEING
Winter is finally here, and with June comes the joys of crisp morning beach walks, warm winter sun and invigorating ocean swims. As the days get shorter and colder, the skies are also getting brighter and bolder. From pink to red, orange and purple, the start and end of our days during these colder months are more vivid due to lower temperatures, the Earth’s tilt being further away from the sun, and the water droplets and ice crystals in mid-level altostratus and cirrus clouds.
BALANCING THE WHEEL OF LIFE
Living a balanced, healthy and happy life can be a challenge at the best of times, and without real awareness, habits and ways of being that don’t serve your highest good can infiltrate your life. Reflecting on how much you prioritise rest, self-care and the things that bring you joy is a good place to start.
